Themes That Matter. Voices That Count.
The EYES project is rooted in the belief that knowledge becomes power when it’s shared — and that power should lead to action.
That’s why we’ve chosen six key themes that reflect the most pressing global and local challenges affecting youth today, both in Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. These topics emerged through deep analysis, consultation with youth organizations, and a shared vision across 8 partner countries.
They address:
- The realities young people face
- The aspirations they carry
- The tools they need to act
Each theme is explored through courses, online meetings, community actions and storytelling, allowing participants not only to understand the world better — but to change it.
Let’s build it, together
This is your invitation to connect, to grow, and to lead.
The future is already in your hands.
Six Topics.
The themes explored in EYES are not just topics, they are real-life challenges that
connect young people across continents, cultures and contexts.
Migration is more than a journey — it’s a story of opportunity, challenge, and resilience.
This theme dives into the causes and consequences of migration and rural exodus, especially among youth.
We explore:
- Economic and social drivers of displacement
- The impact on rural and urban communities
- Migration as a cross-continental phenomenon
- How international cooperation and youth engagement can reduce forced migration
This topic fosters empathy, critical thinking and global awareness — encouraging youth to see migration not as a crisis, but as a human reality with solutions.
Equipping youth with skills, confidence, and opportunity.
This theme addresses one of the most urgent challenges faced by youth in Europe and Africa: lack of employment opportunities.
We focus on:
- Vocational training and non-formal education
- Soft skills and digital competence
- Barriers to employment and underemployment
- The link between education, self-worth and active citizenship
Youth explore how to build meaningful career paths and advocate for a more inclusive, equitable job market.
Rethinking success through fairness, sustainability and cooperation.
This theme presents the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) as a real alternative to traditional economic models.
Youth explore:
- Cooperative models and social entrepreneurship
- Community-based solutions
- Gender equality and sustainability in economic practices
- Empowerment through collective action
We show how SSE can reduce inequalities and offer concrete opportunities for youth-led initiatives.
The SDGs are not just a UN roadmap — they’re your mission, too.
Through this theme, youth connect with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and learn how to localize them through:
- Community clean-ups
- Awareness campaigns
- Climate action projects
Gender equality and inclusive education advocacy
The SDGs become practical, tangible, and deeply personal — fueling everyday change from the bottom up.
Breaking the stigma and building resilience.
Mental health is still a taboo in many communities — but not in EYES.
This theme provides:
- Tools for emotional literacy
- Strategies for self-care and peer support
- A safe space to talk, listen, and grow
We believe that wellbeing is a right — and that youth can lead the way in transforming how we talk about and care for our mental health.
Your voice matters. Your actions shape tomorrow.
This theme inspires youth to become active citizens, through:
- Community organizing and volunteering
- Leadership development
- Advocacy and participation in democratic life
- Youth-led campaigns and digital activism
We empower young people to recognize their role in society — not as future leaders, but as leaders of today.
